We are so excited to introduce two talented Master Goldsmiths, Manvel and Chris, to our in-store workshop team! We asked them a few questions about themselves so that you could get to know them for your jewellery repairs, engraving, and custom designs.
Q: Where are you born and raised?
- Manvel was born Armenia, moved to Hollywood, Los Angeles for 4 years, Calgary, and finally relocated to Vancouver.
- Chris was born in Vietnam, came to Edmonton 30 years ago and moved to Vancouver 10 years ago.
Q: Why did you pursue a career in goldsmithing?
- Manvel’s father mentored him and sent him to be trained to be goldsmith. He told Manvel that a goldsmith in Armenia is one of the best quality, skills he will be able to utilize in the future.
- Chris appreciates the beauty of the jewellery and the seeing it from being nothing to something gorgeous. He enjoys making jewellery.
Q: How many years have you been a Goldsmith? Where have you worked?
- Manvel has been working as a goldsmith for 41 years in Montreal, Calgary, and Vancouver.
- Chris has been working as a goldsmith for 25 years in the Okanagkan and Vancouver.
Q: What are you specialized in?
- Manvel is a master model maker and specializes in hand work fabrication.
- Chris specializes in all types of repair and restoration work on jewellery.
Q; What do you like to do in your spare time?
- Manvel loves to eat. :)
- Chris likes to go fishing!
