What are the differences and similarities between mined diamonds and lab-grown diamonds?
Let’s start with the differences.
Now for the similarities.
When purchasing a diamond, the choice between a lab grown and mined diamond is a very personal decision. Although sales of lab-grown diamonds are the fastest growing category in the diamond industry in North America, many still feel that real is rare and they are most comfortable with a mined diamond. Others are influenced by the advantageous environmental and ethical aspects of lab grown diamonds. Some are also happy to budget less or purchase a substantially larger higher quality diamond for considerably less. Either way, this is a very personal decision and the choice is yours in this ever-changing world.
At Rodan Jewellers, we offer a full trade-up policy for any diamond, whether it be mined or lab-created. This provides an on-going opportunity to purchase now and retain the right and option to upgrade later, with a credit of the full purchase price. This allows many to choose a lab-grown diamond for their initial purchase and protect their value, while reserving the right to consider a larger diamond or mined diamond down the road.
You can always be sure that you will receive the most accurate and professional advice and information at Rodan Jewellers from GIA trained diamond graders so that you can make the best and most informed decisions for which options of origin and diamond grades are most important for you.
